Daniel Rosen, PhD, MSW

    Daniel Rosen, PhD, MSW, Executive Vice President of the Jewish Healthcare Foundation, helps to lead the Foundation’s overall strategy, programming, and collaborative partnerships. Dr. Rosen has dedicated his career to bridging gaps in healthcare access and addressing health disparities.

    Prior to coming to the Jewish Healthcare Foundation, Dr. Rosen was a Professor of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh where he served as the Director of the Integrated Healthcare Certificate, coordinated the joint MSW/MBA program, and was the chair of the Health Research Advisory Panel at the Center on Race and Social Problems. He completed a National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) Patient-Oriented Research Career Development (K-08) Award focused on addressing co-occurring late-life mood disorders in older adults with substance use disorders. He has also received funding for his work from the CDC, SAMHSA, HRSA, and national and local foundations. Dr. Rosen was a recipient of the Hartford Faculty Scholar Award and a Fellow at the Institute of Aging and Social Work. He also founded Wellbridge Health, an innovative chronic disease management company that integrated digital health solutions with personalized coaching to deliver better outcomes for vulnerable populations.

    Dr. Rosen’s commitment to community change is exemplified by his past roles as Board Chair for both AgeWell Pittsburgh and The Friendship Circle, and his service on the board of the Allegheny Regional Asset District and Allegheny Health Choices. He has been involved with JHF for over a decade, serving on its Board of Trustees, Distribution Committee, as its representative chair on the Jewish Community Advisory Committee, and chair of the Adolescent Behavioral Health Special Advisory Committee. Dr. Rosen is a recipient of the Fred Rock Founder’s Award, Volunteer of the Year Award from the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, the University of Pittsburgh Innovation Award, the Latterman Volunteer of the Year Award, and was a Fellow in the Wexner Heritage Foundation program.

    Dr. Rosen received a bachelor's degree in political science, master's degree in social work, and joint doctorate in social work and sociology, all from the University of Michigan.
